Branched chain amino acids and maintaining muscle mass.

The three branched chain amino acids Leucine Isoleucine, and Valine cannot be made by the body and must be consumed in the diet.

BCAAs are not metabolized by the liver, but instead enter the bloodstream, where they are directly taken up by the muscles and used for muscular energy repair and rebuild.
Studies show that BCAAs can extend longevity and may provide fuel for signaling ability to enhance the proliferation of new mitochondria, and how cool is that!!!!

Administration of BCAAs also appears to bolster cellular defense mechanisms against harmful oxidizing molecules, remember that mitochondrial DNA is 500 times more susceptable to free radical damage then nuclear or human DNA.

They also show promise in supporting insulin sensitivity, maintaining muscle mass with aging,
and supporting healthy nervous system function.

So go ahead and add these to your supplement regime, just make sure you get what you pay for.
